Leveraging the Virtual Learning Environment to Develop Metacognitive Skills in Students
Research has demonstrated a clear link between metacognitive skills and academic achievement. This short video presents the work of a UCD Fellowship in Teaching and Academic Development, “Designing for learning in the virtual learning environment.” This project brought together Associate Professors, Emma O’Neill, Crystal Fulton, James Matthews and Carmel Hensey to explore learning supported by the VLE from a pedagogical perspective. Their research was performed using Brightspace, the VLE designed by D2L.
