The less command falls under the category of file viewing and navigation tools in Linux. It’s a pager program that lets you scroll through text files one screen at a time—without loading the entire file into memory.
Using cat floods your screen. But with less, you can scroll, search, and even view live activities in the file with the less +F —all without leaving the terminal.
