World Population Prediction
This video projects global population changes from 2022 to 2100. I ranked Top 15 countries with most population in each year.
The data adopted in our demonstration was from United Nation. The original model UN employed had many control variables, such as different levels of fertility, mortality and migration. In our projection, I chose medium scenario, including medium level fertility, normal mortality and normal migration as control factors.
From model, we may claim that by the end of 2100, the population would be about 10.4 billion. In particular, Asia and Africa together contribute 83% of global population. However, this number can be varied significantly upon different fertility and mortality rates. I personally tend to believe the actual number is smaller than this, as the major countries with most population may complete their industrialisation by that time, such as China and India. In 2022, for instance, the China's actual fertility rate is much lower than prospects.
