What are AI Skills?

Every time you ask a generalist AI agent to do a specific task, it has to figure out how to do it. Which tools to call. In what order. What a good output looks like. Sometimes it gets it right. The next person on the team runs the same task and gets something slightly different.

AI Skills are sets of plain-text instructions that tell the agent exactly how a specific workflow operates. For example, how to structure a deep research task. Or, what the output of an invoice reconciliation should look like and how to handle mismatches. The agent reads the Skill before it starts, so it stops improvising.

Skills for AI Agents

In V7 Go, each Skill is indexed with a short description, and the agent loads only what's relevant to the task. Everything else stays out of context—which matters, because an agent given too many instructions at once starts making strange tradeoffs.

The second benefit is organizational. When one person on your team figures out the right way to run a workflow, that knowledge usually stays with them. A Skill externalizes it. Save it to the team library and everyone runs the same process, with one sentence, without asking the person who built it.

V7 Go ships a growing library of AI Skills, each designed to do one specific thing well. A few examples include:
Analyze a Spreadsheet — parse complex financial models, multi-tab Excel files, and messy real-world data with citations back to source cells
Deep Research — multi-source research for market analysis, regulatory topics, technical questions, and security or diligence questionnaires
Search People — identify executives, map deal ecosystems, and prepare for sales calls or expert discovery
Create a Slideshow — build board decks, investment memos, internal updates, and training materials from a prompt
