The Problem of Perception (John Searle)
John Searle discusses here the nature of perception and some of the main positions in the history of philosophy, as well as some of the problems that arise for each type of view. This is a version of something that I put together awhile ago and that was originally uploaded to the previous channel. I thought it provided a decent overview of the main historical positions and objections, albeit in an overly simplified manner. It should be noted that Searle doesn't actually provide his own positive account of perception here, but only the broad intellectual landscape. In any case, the audio comes from his lectures on the philosophy of mind at Berkeley back in 2010.
