What happened to osu! Content?? HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT!!
Hello osu! Community and welcome to our new channel. We’d like to start off with an informative video of the events that took place last week regarding our channel, what happened & our plans for the future.
Firstly, I’ll reintroduce myself, I’m Kira and I was on the osu! Content team. I ran my own series on the channel, but unfortunately, our channel was recently terminated.
On Monday, the 11th of September, we hired a new speeduploader, which turned out to be the worst decision we ever made for channel, leading to its end. The following day, he went wild deleting the 700 most viewed videos, renaming the channel, ruining the pre-sets and uploading pornography to the channel. He followed these actions with false accusations of botting to improve our channels statistics, and that we mass dislike botted other channels posting similar content. This is of course defamation which is a serious matter and shouldn’t be treated lightly.
A few hours later, we got our channel back to its previous state for the most part, we couldn’t recover the videos, but we started to reupload some of the newer deleted videos. We contacted YouTube and felt at this stage as if we were finally pulling the channel back together.
Later in the day, Strato, head of the channel, received an email from YouTube regarding the situation and that we had been terminated. However the reason for our termination was not what we had originally expected, YouTube told us that someone had used bots on the channel, which we believe was also done by the culprit of the actions stated earlier.
Everything went down in such a short timespan we did not get an opportunity to update and inform you all of our status and what was happening, leaving many of you confused.
We decided to pick ourselves back up and start over, it will not be an easy obstacle to pass and it will be a long journey back to our previous growth, but we hope you will join us in our journey once more.
Following our return to YouTube, we are happy to announce that there will be great improvements to almost everything! We have decided to return under a new name, new thumbnails and an entire new design overall. We have & will always be thinking of new and exciting videos and series to make our channel stand out.
We are happy to inform that osu! Weekly will be returning, alongside the gorgeous voice of Isonoi, the plays will continue to be uploaded quickly so you are always updated, and the newest series coming to our channel will be livestream highlights. Like mentioned before, we are always looking for new, creative and exciting ideas for the channel.
I hope you all understand our current situation, we are pretty stressed from the intensity and amount of events to unfold in such a short amount of time, but we remain focused and motivated to continue bringing you all the things you want to see.
