FIX – The Fix: DaVinci Audio Recording Issue (Windows Enhanced Audio)

DaVinci’s Voice Over… mic meters moves… or doesnt and the clip records nothing?

Looks like a Resolve bug, a mic failure, or a driver problem — but in my case the mic was fine. The real cause was Windows “Enhanced Audio” being enabled on the microphone, which interfered with how the Voice Over tool receives/records the input.

This video is a fast, proof-based walkthrough:
• Showing the issue happening in real time (meters active, no waveform recorded)
• Displaying the root cause (Windows processing the input before Resolve receives it)
• Demonstrating the exact fix (disable Enhanced Audio)
• Confirming it’s working (waveform records immediately)

Quick Fix (if you just want the solution)
Win + R → type:
ms-settings:sound
Then: Input → select your mic → Device properties → Enhanced Audio: OFF
Restart DaVinci Resolve if it’s already open.
