Mandala bheda
There are total ten forms of standing.
Sthanakam caayatalidham Prenkhanam Preritaanica ||
Pratyalidham Swastikam ca Motitam Samasucika |
Parshvasuci tica dasha Mandalaaniritaaniha ||
They are listed below:
1. Sthanaka - To stand straight with the hands depicting ardhachandra rest on the hips
2. Ayata - To stand with the feet separated at a distance of one vita with the knees bent outward
3. Alidha - To stand with a right foot placed back and left foot before the right foot separated by three spans from it with shikhara in left and katakamukha in right
4. Prenkana - To stand with hands in kurma and one foot is kept along with the other
5. Prerita - To stand with one foot in aramandi and other stretched out with shikharaheld near the chest and pataka stretched out
6. Pratyalidha - To stand with the hands and feet of alidha with opposite feet position
7. Swastika - To stand with the hands and legs put across one another
8. Motita - To touch the ground with both the knees alternately after resting on toes and the hands held in tripataka
9. Samasuci - To touch the ground with both the knees and toes held together
10. Parshvasuci - To touch the ground with toes and the knee of one side
