SQL Developer Edition Is Now Free
Microsoft recently announced that they are making SQL Developer Edition free via Visual Studio Dev Essentials, the free edition of Visual Studio from Microsoft.
This should give you all you need to build and deploy your apps across all platforms and it will remain free even after SQL Server 2016 hits General Availability.
