I've never pretended to be an expert on anything I haven't personally handled, so I'll explain in more detail what kind of soundproofing we're using here!
This is a roll-based, uncoated material made by bonding two layers—a metallized polyester film and a soundproofing sheet—with a bitumen binder. The side overlap of the material is self-adhesive, and therefore is additionally protected by a film that is removed during installation.
This material is used as a soundproofing layer indoors, primarily for various types of flooring, but can also be used for interior partitions.
