China’s "Hongqi" air defense missile system is said to have as many as 200 missile battalions, making it the largest in the world. But let’s not forget that its core technology comes from Russia. The enormous launch tubes, clunky and oversized, make it clear they're of Russian origin. Moving these systems to the sea presents another challenge. The launch silos can’t hold many missiles, and their sea-based air defense capability can’t be sustained for long.
