Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin or hCG testing (also called beta hCG) measures the actual amount of hCG present in the blood. It may be used to help diagnose an ectopic pregnancy, to help diagnose and monitor a pregnancy that may be failing, and to monitor a woman after a miscarriage.
Serum hCG in blood pregnancy test can tell you how many weeks you are pregnant, so you know if you are in early pregnancy and more accurate than urine pregnancy test that only tells you negative or positive pregnancy.
Urine pregnancy test is also unreliable as you can be positive several weeks after miscarriage so dropping levels in hCG blood pregnancy test is more accurate reflection.
