On 9 September 2025, Thailand’s Supreme Court sentenced former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra to one year in prison over his unjustified hospital detention stay. Just 11 days earlier, his daughter Paetongtarn was also removed as Prime Minister by the Constitutional Court.
