Aerogel is required to make a various things in Subnautica including a torpedo system for the Seamoth and a Prawn Suit for deep sea diving. To make it, you need one gel sack and one ruby. Gel sacks are pretty hard to find unless you know where to look! I show you in this video.
Rubies can be found in deeper rocky areas, particularly where you find shale outcrops.
