We will be discussing Jordan Peterson’s introductory video for his Personality & Its Transformation course.

1. What is it that we are all trying to create as Engineers of Spirit - of our own and others characters?
2. Why does the study of Personality require both humility and boldness?
3. What is the point of studying multiple theories of personality if there is no convergent agreement between them? Given the wide variation in the way of operation of people and social systems, why is it fruitful to take a “large toolkit” approach to understanding and dealing with yourself and other people?
4. It's not obvious that your personality is inside you - is your child more a part of who you are than your arm or less so?
5. How does the world look to you if you look at it as a place to act as opposed to as a place to understand?
6. How do various tensions such as nature vs nurture, internal vs external causes, conscious vs subconscious, individual vs social, passion vs reason play out in personalities?

“In this lecture, I define personality from multiple angles, historical, constructivist, psychoanalytic, behavioral and neuropsychological. Personality is a way of looking at the world, and a characteristic mode of behaving. It's both stable and adaptively dynamic... Personality is both a science and an engineering discipline. It is worthwhile to approach this course as an engineer of spirit—your own spirit to begin with, and then as mutual co-creators of personalities of those you interact with.” — Jordan Peterson
