Born with CHARGE syndrome and Russell-Silver syndrome, Sophie spent her first 11 months in the NICU at McMaster Children’s Hospital—facing challenges no family can ever fully prepare for.
There were moments when her parents didn’t know if she would survive.
Today, Sophie is full of joy, curiosity, and a personality that brings calm and happiness to everyone around her.
Through the support of Niagara Children’s Centre, Sophie and her family have access to specialized care, including speech therapy, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy to help build the skills she needs for the future.
This is Sophie’s story—and a reminder of the impact that early support, community, and care can have on a child’s life.
