Meet Edwin, a 2023 CIS of Chicago Tenacity Award Winner
At the beginning of the school year, Edwin was reluctant to join CIS’ Freshmen Rising program, but once he did, Edwin saw the program’s value. With the support of Freshmen Rising Coordinator Brian, Edwin gained skills to develop strong academic and attendance goals, he learned tools to manage stress and create positive relationships, and he developed leadership skills. In the Freshmen Rising group, he sets a positive example for his fellow students and offers sound advice to others. “I am proud of Edwin,” Brian said. “He has shown a tremendous amount of growth in his leadership and his overall maturity level.”
