The album Shadow Ecologies enters the aural sensorium of elements that nourish, support and convene with botanical life forms. Each track of the album magnifies the sonic texture of these elemental materials including glass, soil, air and water. Further, these botanical allies are bookended by elements from the architecture of a plant itself. The first track corresponds to a terminal bud and the final track to the lateral root. Together a pulsating organism that is more than just plant utters itself across six tracks of the album, and invites you to tune into the transmissions underway in plant worlds.
Splice Bio
Splice is an artistic and curatorial collaborative practice founded by Rohini Devasher and Pallavi Paul in august 2021. It taps into the radical potential of friendship as a gateway to extending critical and aesthetic curiosities, and accompanying modes of action. The duo is particularly interested in splicing i.e. a cutting and combining of various conceptual strands emerging form the ecological, temporal and speculative.
