Great job, everyone!
Enjoy assembling this reproduction of an antique ammeter, which, with a good eye, can measure to within 5 milliamps. All the parts were handcrafted or transformed from everyday objects, such as an inexpensive mirror or a frame from which the glass was cut.
There's no need to make springs, as the instrument uses a precise, constant, and well-known force—gravity—to counterbalance the needle.
The "A" drawn on the instrument was copied from a 1921 book about the history of Ampere.
