Ever feel that snapping at the front of your hip when straightening your leg? This sensation can happen when some soft tissue moves over parts of the hip joint.
Missing rotation at the hip can cause this tissue movement to happen.Internal rotation is required when straightening (extending your leg). So if you are missing internal rotation, you may feel snapping at the hip.
A quick fix to avoid snapping at the hip is to turn the legs out when straightening. This reduces the internal rotation demands at the hip and therefore the snapping.A longer term fix (preferred) requires restoring hip internal rotation which can be achieved with hinging variations.
Here’s one of my favorites!
