The 30th Busan International Film Festival
began with a press preview of the opening film.
Living up to its reputation as Asia's largest film festival, a diverse lineup of domestic and international filmmakers graced the red carpet at the Busan Cinema Center.
The first competition screening, showcasing 14 films from various Asian countries, captivated film fans.
At the Busan Cinema Center's outdoor stage, directors and actors from films like "Good News," "Project Y," and "People and Meat" interacted with the audience during open talks.
The Actor's House, where actors Son Ye-jin and Kim Yoo-jung discussed their acting and projects, and a special talk further enriched the festival.
The return of world-renowned filmmakers also garnered attention. Director Guillermo del Toro visited Busan to introduce his new film, Frankenstein, to enthusiastic applause, and the gala presentation press conference followed.
The outdoor stage, where actors and directors from eight films, including The People Upstairs and Exit 8, interacted with the audience, was in full swing.
As the festival entered its midweek,
seats at every screening were sold out.
The audience's enthusiasm in the Ajudam Lounge, where they could interact with the powerful actors who filled the films, transformed the festival into a festival.
The press conferences for the newly added competition sections were held in earnest, further deepening the significance of the inaugural competition film festival.
Meeting actors and directors, and watching different films every day, the audience was immersed in the films.

"Because we offer films not available in traditional theaters or on OTT or other services, we host many events where we visit the festival to talk with audiences, hold Q&A sessions with directors, and ask questions. I think the festival is a great program."

However, audiences continued to flock to the screening rooms, anticipating the opportunity to chat with the directors.
