In this video we will begin shaping our boots for the armor set that we are developing. We will be using a box primitive this time around as opposed to the cylinder method we have been using in the previous videos. Regardless of what primitive shape you start out with the basic principles are going to be the same. The box primitive is just a mesh no different than a cylinder in concept. At this point you might come to the realization that all models are the same in that they all contain the same exact components. Primitives are just a starting point that gets us quickly into the modeling at a certain starting point.

While shaping the boots we will need to make use of the feet in order to get the shape and size relatively identical to the size of the feet. After we have shaped the boots to fit the feet we will need to bring in the body if the boots go above the ankle. In the game, if the boots go above the ankle, the boots will clip with the body unless they have been adjusted to also fit the body. Once we have made the adjustments necessary to avoid clipping we will need to skinwrap our boots to the feet. We might also benefit from adding the body to the skinwrap along with the feet in order to gain a more accurate outcome for our skin. Boots are fairly easy to do but they might take a little bit of time to shape correctly if you are not used to making them.
