To celebrate 200 years since Christie’s took residence at our King Street headquarters in London, we delve into the archive with Head of Archives, Lynda McLeod.
It all began when James Christie, the younger (1771-1831), the founder’s son who made plans to move his father’s saleroom from Pall Mall to King Street in 1823. (a move of less than a 150 metres).
