**Alignment**: Refers to positioning content horizontally or vertically. Commonly used with text (`text-align: left | center | right`) or flexbox/grid layouts for aligning items within a container.
**Float**: Allows elements (typically images or blocks) to be taken out of the normal document flow and placed to the left or right of their container (`float: left | right`). Text or inline elements will wrap around the floated item.
**Clear**: Prevents elements from flowing around floated elements. Used to avoid layout issues when floats are involved (`clear: left | right | both`), typically applied to block elements following floated ones.
