John le Carré was an English writer and author of spy novels. He published 22 novels over a half-century-long career.
Besides his literary work, he was a veteran of the British secret service and an experienced intelligence officer, so his perspective on events was shaped by his professional experience working for one of the world's most powerful intelligence agencies.
The novel "Our Game" partially touches on events in Ingushetia, showing how the Ingush people fight for the right to live on their land. In this work of fiction, the writer raises the issue of Western Ingushetia (the so-called "Prigorodny District" and part of the Malgobek District of Ingushetia, illegally incorporated into Ossetia after 1944), clearly portrays the proud character of the Ingush people, and makes it clear that the Ingush will never renounce their rights to their territory. The book's events shift from quiet England to Ingushetia, and the narrative ends in a mountainous Ingush village.
