This lesson is a great place to start learning about ArcGIS Pro’s animation capabilities.

Animations are about sharing GIS information with others, including your peers and the public, using a video. It’s a format that can contain a guided geographic story, and it can also be sent directly to colleagues or uploaded to social media for anyone to see. It’s a great way to get your message out.

In this example, we’ll create a fly-through video that passes over a proposed building in central Philadelphia.

In this short video, you will learn key animation concepts as well as specifics on how to:
• Add a blank animation to your map or scene
• Create a camera fly-through using keyframes
• Set the total duration for your video
• Move between individual keyframes and play a preview
• Interactive scrub through your animation to problematic locations
• Add an intermediate keyframe to adjust the camera’s direction
• Export the animation to a video file at a specific resolution

After watching this lesson, you might be interested in other lessons in the series that cover animation techniques in more detail.
