Is Dolby Atmos surround on streaming Netflix?
This is just an illustration how to obtain Dolby Atmos object based surround sound up mixing and the new format of surround sound on a Roku express vs the Amazon fire stick and PlayStation 4 game console. Keep in mind this is not a true version of Dolby Atmos this is a upmixed version of the surround sound format commonly offered on Blu-rays and UHD 4k films. The true form of Dolby Atmos utilizes surround Matrix and mixing of height channels activating in ceiling or on Wall height effects. However this form of surround sound when utilizing a Dolby Atmos compatible surround sound receiver will achieve height audio up mixing.
When attempting to obtain Dolby Atmos using the PlayStation 4 and or 3 or a PlayStation 4 Pro it is not possible. Hence the reason I chose to invest in a Roku Express versus the Amazon Fire stick but also check out my video comparing both the Amazon Fire stick and the Roku Express. Unfortunately the oppo udp 203 and 205 do not offer streaming services at all. So this video is technically illustrating the fact that for surround sound and better quality audio it is more beneficial to utilize a streaming device as opposed to a gaming console or a Blu-ray player.
