After Effects Template: Shattered - Shattering Glass/Mirror Logo Stinger
Shattered is a completely customizable 12-second-long logo stinger After Effects template inspired Black Mirror (The series) of a procedural glass-shattering effect with editable text and colors. Even though the shatter pattern is fixed, meaning that it always shatters in the same way, it still shatters procedurally, so you have some control over which pieces fly farther, how much it shatters and so on. The After Effects template was made mainly with the Shatter plugin, so if you know that plugin, you'll understand the amount of control you have over the glass pieces. The shatter map with which the glass cracks and shatters was made using the base broken glass texture, AND NOT AFTER EFFECTS' SHATTER PLUGIN'S STOCK GLASS SHATTER PATTERN. I cannot stress this enough. 'Cause many tutorials and After Effects templates out there use this method and it may seem like the same, but it very much ISN'T. The stock pattern in AE's Shatter plugin will not match all the glass textures you use and while on a first look it may look really cool, on a second look it will look cheap and rushed. On the other hand, when the shards match the glass texture, you can't help but wonder... Who did they do it?
