Rouse Hill is a beautiful scenic drive that starts from the 74 just a couple miles East of Hemet. From the trail head you will climb through the mountains deep into the Southern Portion of Idyllwild where the trail ends on Thomas Mountain. The trail itself is rated Moderate for the deep ruts you and steep inclines you will encounter throughout the trail. These ruts can get as deep as 2 feet in some sections therefore it is recommended to have high clearance and 4x4 can be required on certain sections where the rocks are very loose going uphill.
The Extra Credit seen at the end of the video get a 4 Technical Rating due to the possibility of roll over. The hill climb is loose and rutted but doable in 2WD in dry conditions. The downhill section just around the corner from the hill climb is where you will want to pay attention to your line because it is very loose, very off camber and wrong lines can result in damage and roll over.
