Ever wondered how many days are left until a deadline—or how long something lasted? This breakdown shows how to calculate it instantly using Excel.
This Excel video teaches you how to figure out the number of days between two dates using simple math in Excel.
You can do this by subtracting one date from another.
Excel treats dates like numbers, with January 1, 1900 being the starting point represented by the number 1.
For example, if you want to find out how many days are there until January 1, 2029, starting from January 1, 2021, you subtract the serial number of the earlier date from the serial number of the later date, which gives you 2,922 days.
You can do this directly or by using the TODAY function to get the current date.
Additionally, you can create text messages that include the calculated days using the concatenation operator (&) in Excel.
