BAJA 1000 - IMPRESSIVE RACE - Total Speed
The Baja 1000 is a legendary off-road race held in Mexico, where cars, motorcycles, buggies, and many other vehicles compete, testing drivers for over 16 hours.
It's recognized as the most important race of its kind in North America, attracting a large crowd of fans and competitors. We had the opportunity to ride in the pickup truck of a team sponsored by Yokohama Mexico. They gave us a spin, and it was an amazing experience. Knowing what these vehicles are capable of enduring on the trail is beyond anything you could imagine.
As for the race itself, it starts in Ensenada and follows a loop route, meaning it also finishes in Ensenada. Competitors travel for hours on end, driving day and night in very difficult conditions, trying to complete the race, which is a true challenge, and simply finishing is a victory.
The Yokohama Mexico car, crewed by two Mexican drivers and one American, performed well in the competition. Despite the difficulties and technical problems their vehicle presented, they were able to finish the competition in 12th place in their category, the Trophy Truck Spec.
