Pokemon Black and White - Itemfinder
When Belle meets you outside of Aloe's Gym, she will give you the Itemfinder/Dowsing MCHN.
Unlike HeartGold and SoulSilver, you don't need to be pressing the screen to use it. However, you can't access the C-Gear or any part of the menu with it active.
Simply follow the direction the rods and arrow point to track down an item. The blinking reticule means you're standing on top of the item; take a step back and then you can pick it up.
