“After Nico and I made 'Weightless,' we knew we wanted to work together again. So we started to write 'Upside Down.' At this point in time I still had very little experience working with major keys. So I hit a pretty long period of writer’s block unfortunately. It wasn’t until I was sick with COVID mid-2020 that I decided to try to push through my writer’s block, which was mostly thanks to the severe boredom I had from sitting alone in my room all day. Maybe Nico’s lyrics resonated with me, because I was able to hit that same flow state we had initially with 'Weightless' after months of failing.” -Ekonovah
