Therefore, the task of modernizing the machine-veteran is still topical. According to military experts, the best option for modernizing this car is the Russian ZSU-23-4M4 "Shilka-M4", which was recently demonstrated at the exhibition in Nizhny Tagil.
As reported by the creators of the car, ZSU-23-4M4 "Shilka-M4" is designed for air defense of ground troops in all types of combat operations, as well as for air defense of facilities.
The ZSU is capable of combating low-flying aircraft (including hanging ones), cruise missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles, lightly armored surface and surface targets and targets dropped on parachutes in conditions of interference and any weather and climate conditions.
There is the possibility of integration into a single military information structure of air defense.
The machine is equipped with: a 23-mm quad bore and two universal start-up modules. Ammunition - 2000 23-mm rounds and 4 missiles to the "Sagittarius" complex.
In a single air defense system, the maximum range of detection of an air target can reach 34 km.
The maximum range of tracking the target by the radio channel is 10 km, the minimum distance is 200 m.
The machine is able to hit air targets flying at a speed of 500 ms. The minimum height of tracking a target by a radio channel is 20 m.
The consumption of shells for one shot down the target reaches - 300-600 shots.
