How to Leave Your Own Discord Server! (Full Guide)
Leaving your own Discord server is different from leaving a server you’ve joined because server owners cannot simply exit their server without first transferring ownership. If you are the owner of a server and want to leave it, you must assign ownership to another member before the option to leave becomes available. This ensures that the server remains functional and does not get abandoned without an admin.
To leave your own Discord server, start by opening the *Discord app* on your mobile device or desktop. Navigate to the server you own by selecting it from the left-hand sidebar. Tap on the *server name* at the top of the screen to open the server menu. Normally, if you are just a member of a server, you would find a *"Leave Server"* option at the bottom of this menu. However, since you are the owner, this option will not appear.
To proceed, go to *Server Settings**, then select **"Members"* under the *"User Management"* section. This will display a list of all the members in your server. Find a trusted member to whom you want to transfer ownership. Tap on their name, then select *"Transfer Ownership"* from the menu. Confirm the transfer when prompted.
