Advice for conservatory/music college students! | Team Recorder
Hi, this is for all of you starting (or resuming) a study in music at conservatoire, music college or university! I've been there, I've been through it aaaaaall, so this is what I would say to 18 year old Sarah if I could ;)
Important: this is just a tiny slice of my experience, and feel to discard it if you feel I'm talking bollocks! Your situation may be way different from mine too. I started studying at a time when my tuition fees were cheaper and subsidised, rent was v cheap (and subsidised, by my mum) and the world was not yet going to hell in a handbasket. (wait, I should be sending positive vibes. sorry!) Anyway, you are doing an AMAZING thing and I am PROUD of you! And please, please, please, ENJOY IT!!!!!!!!

2003-7: Bachelor of music at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, UK
2007-10: Bachelor of music at Conservatorium van Amsterdam, NL
2010/11: gap year (TAKE ONE IF YOU NEED IT THE WORLD WILL WAIT)
2011-13: Master of music at Conservatorium van Amsterdam, NL
