In this AutoCAD 2027 tutorial for beginners, you’ll learn how to use the Fillet Command to create rounded corners between two objects.
This lesson explains fillet radius, setting radius, joining two lines, using radius 0, rounding rectangle corners, and the difference between Fillet and Chamfer in AutoCAD.

Welcome back to Cadelyx — AutoCAD 2027 Made Simple.

In the previous video, we learned the Offset Command in AutoCAD 2027 and understood how to create parallel copies of lines, rectangles, circles, and shapes at a specific distance. In this lesson, we will learn another useful editing command: the Fillet Command.

The Fillet Command is used to create rounded corners between two objects. If two lines meet at a sharp corner and you want to make that corner smooth and round, you can use Fillet.

In this beginner-friendly AutoCAD tutorial, you will learn how to start the Fillet Command from the Ribbon, how to start it by typing F, what fillet radius means, how to set the radius, and how to use Fillet to round corners or clean line intersections.

In this video, you will learn:

What the AutoCAD Fillet Command is
Where Fillet is used in real drawings
How to start Fillet from the Home tab and Modify panel
How to start Fillet by typing F and pressing Enter
What Fillet Radius means in AutoCAD
How to set the Fillet Radius using R
How to create rounded corners
How to use Fillet with radius 0
How to join two lines using Fillet
How to use Fillet on a rectangle
Why Fillet is different from Chamfer
How to practice rounded and sharp corner cleanup

This video is perfect for complete beginners who are learning AutoCAD 2027 step by step. If you want to create floor plans, architectural drawings, mechanical drawings, civil drawings, interior layouts, furniture details, wall corners, design elements, or professional 2D drafting projects, the Fillet Command is an important modify tool to understand.

The most important beginner lesson from this video is simple: Fillet is used to round corners, and the radius controls how big or small that rounded corner will be.

You will also learn one very useful beginner trick: a Fillet radius of 0 can clean two lines into one sharp corner. A radius greater than 0 creates a rounded corner.

This video is part of the complete AutoCAD 2027 Full Course for Beginners on Cadelyx. The goal of this course is to make AutoCAD simple, practical, and easy to understand for students, engineers, architects, interior designers, civil drafting learners, mechanical drafting learners, construction professionals, freelancers, and anyone who wants to learn AutoCAD from zero.

In the next video, we will learn the Chamfer Command. The Chamfer Command is used to cut a corner with a straight angled edge instead of a round curve.
