How to navigate the Audio Toolbar for Efficient Audio Redaction | CaseGuard Studio
This video will cover the options under the Audio “Tool Bar”, also known as “Tool Kit Bar”, and the “Tools Property Panel’s” assisting features. Make sure to pin your “Tasks List” since your Audio “Tool Bar” options will use that panel. All the features shown in this audio file can be replicated in any video file with audio. Selecting the different options in the “Tool Bar” changes the “Tools Property Panel” options you have below to give you more flexibility when using the feature.
The “Tool Bar” provides you with five options.
The first option is “Audio Redaction.” This is your default option when you add an audio file. The panel below allows you to use the manual audio redaction tools in depth, this is covered in the “Manual Audio Redaction” video.
When a redaction is applied, it shows the action and time stamp under the “Description.” If you have multiple manual redactions, you can use the “go to position” icon under “Operations” to go to one second before the specific redaction. You can also select “Preview without Effect” to listen to what you’ve decided to mute, bleep or change the voice. The delete button will remove these redactions one by one which is reflected on the audio wave.
Next is “Audio Effects” which simply allows you to increase or decrease the volume. You can decrease the volume down to.5, and the highest increase level is 100. Select to add it to the Task list and export it to have the volume change take effect.
The third option is the “Closed Captioning” icon, which allows you to add captions to your videos and audio files. You can add the time stamps using any of the manual methods, write out the caption and save it to have it on screen for the duration you choose. The Closed captioning feature is discussed further in the “How to: Translation and closed captioning” video.
Next, the “Convert Audio to video” option. Once you select this option, the task appears on the “Tasks List” panel and will apply to the exported file. You will see that the exported file is now a .mp4 file and no longer a .mp3 which is a good indicator that it has been converted.
Lastly, “Noise removal,” can be applied to any audio that has background noise you would like to remove. You can adjust the noise removal on the Audio wave itself and select to remove the noise from a specific level and time frame or the entire audio
