In this video I will show you a new note taking application called obsidian. Although my preferred way of taking notes is on diaries but this application got my attention due to some unique features. i will show you my top 3 reasons why I recommend Obsidian note taking app for my subscribers who are PhD students. During the research it is important that your notes must be secured and Obsidian has a philosophy of local and plain text. It stores your notes in a vault which is essentially a folder on your computer. you can then create sub-folders where you can create store your notes. because obsidian notes are a plain text file, you can open these files in notepad or any other text editor. The first reason is that you can link your notes. This gives you the ability to enhance your knowledge base. Obsidian note taking app is a knowledge-based application. Since the main purpose of academic notes is to improve your knowledge, I highly recommend this app for PhD and Research students. If you are reading a journal paper, where you find any new word or a novel phrase coined by a renowned scientist, you can create a note or two about that word. You can also create a tag. I will show you how to see your notes in Obsidian, how to open one or more notes vaults in Obsidian, how to create a folder or a note.
