3. Alternative Method: OLE Object:
Another approach is to use the menu option Insert - Object - OLE Object... in Writer.
This method allows you to embed a complete spreadsheet (not just cell content) into your document.
However, if you specifically need real-time updates, the DDE link method described above is more suitable.
