WriteNow aims to find, mentor and publish new writers from communities under-represented on the nation’s bookshelves.
We launched WriteNow in 2016 because we know that books don’t reflect everyone in our society. There are still too many stories which are not being told, and too many voices which are overlooked.
In 2018 we will invite 150 writers and illustrators to one of three workshops in London (Saturday 8 September), Liverpool (Saturday 15 September) and Nottingham (Saturday 29 September). After getting to know you and your work, we'll ask 10 exceptional new voices to join our year-long mentoring programme.
Since launching, we've seen a total of 23 writers mentored by Penguin Random House editors, with 5 signing publishing deals with us. To give you an idea of what the programme can offer, we asked them about their own WriteNow experience so far...
