Elden Ring is an open-world action/RPG video game developed by the Japanese company FromSoftware. It was released on February 25, 2022.
The game takes place in the Betweenlands, a land ruled by Queen Marika the Everlasting. In the past, life in the Betweenlands depended on the Elden Ring, a sacred runic scripture that determined the rules of the world: who lives and who dies.
This era of prosperity ended when one of the demigods stole the great rune of predestined death, without which all living things would eventually turn into undead. The Elden Ring was destroyed, and all the runes that comprised it fell into the hands of the demigods.
