For the back: I cast on more stitches for the back than the required 452. I did this on purpose, wanting the skirt to be wider to accommodate a ball gown. The normal number of stitches is (39 + 39 without pleats + 36 pleats) = 114 stitches. 114 stitches / 3 = 38 motifs. 38 motifs * 9 = 342 stitches for the back cast-on.
The girl is tall for her age. Don't forget to remeasure the sleeve length for your child; it may be too long.
