This is a comprehensive comparison of the Rode Video Mic Pro and the Audio-technica AT875R microphones. Although technically not a "shotgun" mic like the AT875R the Rode Video Mic Pro is designed with "a supercardioid pickup pattern to capture audio from the front, while minimizing pickup from the sides and rear."
