Salvador - making photographers look cool
THIS VIDEO: In the 1980s journalists and particularly photojournalists were seen as the epitome of ‘cool’. There was a spate of movies in that decade in which the heroes were all journalists - Salvador, Under Fire, The Killing Fields and the year of living dangerously were the big ones. It was during this time that I was entering the photography world and these movies had a big impact on me. It was probably the hyper-reality that this life offered- that was most appealing - an escape from the mundaneness of life.

ABOUT ME: The conversations focus on topics related to different aspects of photography including: art, documentary and photojournalism.
