Ever wonder how to copy a layer mask in Photoshop Elements? Unlike the full version of Photoshop, in Elements you cant just Option/Alt Drag a Layer Mask to a new Layer.

This video tutorial was recorded using Photoshop Elements 11, but you can also use the same technique for many earlier versions of Elements.

You also can't put a bunch of Layers in a folder in the Layers Panel and then add a Layer Mask to the folder so that it applies to all of the Layers in the folder.

But fortunately there is an quick and easy way to make an exact copy of a Layer Mask in Elements so that you can apply it to as many Layers as you want.

With this technique we explore a little different approach from "painting" a Layer Mask. We actually make a Selection of the Mask and then fill the selection with black. Much quicker and more precise than using the Brush Tool.
