OmegaFile is a high-performance Windows utility built to make copying, moving, and deleting files dramatically faster and smarter than the default Windows experience. Most people think slow copy speeds are caused by large file sizes, but the real bottleneck is usually the number of files. Windows processes files one at a time — opening, reading, writing, closing, and updating metadata for every single file individually. With thousands of small files, this creates massive overhead and causes copy operations to become painfully slow.
OmegaFile solves this using an intelligent adaptive copy engine that automatically detects what you are copying and switches to the best strategy instantly — no settings or manual modes required.
For single files, OmegaFile uses the native Windows `CopyFileEx` API for maximum efficiency and accurate real-time progress reporting. For smaller collections, it uses multiple parallel async workers to copy several files simultaneously instead of one by one. For large collections with thousands of files, OmegaFile uses advanced IOCP (I/O Completion Ports) technology — the same high-performance system used in servers and databases — allowing many copy operations to run in parallel while keeping the storage queue fully utilized. For extremely massive collections with hundreds of thousands or even millions of files, OmegaFile switches to a stream-based batch system that minimizes per-file overhead and keeps performance consistent even at huge scales.
Real-world testing showed OmegaFile copying a folder containing 3,947 files (81.1 MB total) in only 5 seconds, while Windows took 26 seconds on the same machine, source, and destination — over 5× faster. The advantage becomes even bigger as file counts increase. Folders that can take Windows tens of minutes or even hours may finish in minutes with OmegaFile.
OmegaFile also includes powerful Force Delete functionality for files Windows refuses to remove. It can handle locked files, “Access Denied” errors, corrupted permissions, system-protected items, leftover files from crashed applications, and files blocked by restrictive attributes. OmegaFile can take ownership, remove blocking attributes, close accessible handles, and if necessary schedule files for deletion automatically on the next system reboot.
