Traditional Log Home Dissection
Take a walk in the past as Dave dissects this hand hewn dovetail log home. This traditionally built dovetail log house, expertly crafted by a master builder in the early 1900s is a gem of a find! Located right here in Western Canada we are fortunate to be able to reclaim such precision in the log building trade. Built by hand and using traditional techniques, this is a relatively late build as early sawmills and power tools were becoming available to builders. Modern day log builder and instructor, Dave Stonehouse, admires this building and chats about the details in the log work and the traditional building techniques once used to craft such a log home.
