Burr formation is often unavoidable on laser, plasma and autogenous cut or punched sheet metal parts. The burr or primary burr is a material formation on the cut edge of components that protrudes beyond the original workpiece edges and surfaces. Other deviations from the nominal condition are, for example, splashes on the component surface caused by laser cutting, unevenness or scaling of the surface. A by-product of primary burr removal is the so-called secondary burr. This extends in the direction of the component surface and is caused by insufficient removal and simultaneous reshaping of the residual material.
Grinding is usually used to remove primary burr, spatter, unevenness and/or scale layers. In primary burr removal, the focus is also on minimising secondary burr formation. In order to remove the undesirable secondary features on the sheet without leaving any residue, special carrier systems for grinding belts, wheels or sheets are required.
This pre-grinding process can be carried out with boeck tools on hand-held machines. The prerequisite is a hand-held machine with an M14 threaded mount, such as an angle grinder or polishing machine. With the boeck velcro backing pad and the matching abrasive disc, you can remove the primary burr in no time at all. Slight reshaping of the primary burr into a secondary burr cannot be avoided in the process. But there is a boeck tool solution for this too.

We are boeck. With the latest technology and know-how, we develop and sell deburring tools for automatic and manual metalworking processes. Whether slag removal, pre-grinding, edge rounding, deburring, oxide layer removal or finish grinding, we have the right tool for your process chain.
Economical sheet metal deburring with enthusiasm factor. Whether steel, stainless steel, aluminium, galvanised or foiled sheet metal - we have a wide range of tool types and variants, the latest production technologies and know-how with which to achieve the desired functional and quality specifications on your workpiece (e.g. sheet metal housings, containers, cladding, racks).
Deburring and edge rounding is carried out using flexible abrasive tools with a high degree of adaptability to internal and external contours such as radii, bores and cut-outs. The corresponding deburring discs, deburring rollers, deburring blocks and deburring brushes are used on manual machines as well as grinding and deburring machines. The latter have, for example, planetary head systems or oscillating units for uniform processing of the edges.
