How Did Light Yagami find out L's Name to kill him?
Light Never find out L's Name.
Light tried to find a way to figure out L’s name, and he nearly succeeded in doing so with the Misa attempt when he made her meet him in public.
She actually saw his real name above his head thanks to the Shinigami eyes, but L was too smart for that trick to work, he snatched her phone and answered Light instead of her, and as a result, the latter couldn’t get L’s real name.
The second attempt was the one when he made that masterpiece of a plan with the memory loss and everything and tricked Rem into sacrificing herself in order to save Misa, and L died in the process, and even then, Light didn’t know L’s name.
He couldn’t care less, Light just wanted Lawliet dead.
Obviously, in the end he knew L’s name because he was the one to collect REM’s note book after she killed L. Light would have easily read L’s real name in the notebook.
